Verizon, a telecommunications company and cellular operator from the United States (US) has announced that the 5G Network was officially activated for the first time in the world. Verizon has debuted for several regions in the United States, including Los Angeles, Sacramento, Houston, Indianapolis.
It’s not impossible, that in a few years, Indonesia will also be able to enjoy the 5G network, and I really hope for that. This is not without reason after I read the statement from Ronni Nurmal, Vice President Network Solution Ericsson for Indonesia and Timor Leste, he told for one of the local newspapers (kompas.com) that it was possible 5G massive deployment will start in 2021 in Indonesia.
5G does require a lot of supporting factors because the technology can be applied if cellular operators are ready for it, and have various supporting technologies. This is the same as other technologies. For example, you now have a smartphone with 4G capabilities, but some of your friends still have smartphones that only support 3G.
